Brandeis University is delighted to announce a career opportunity as an Athletic Event Management Administrator to support in the logistical execution and facility readiness for varsity contests at the NCAA Division III level and aquatics this role you would support the Department of Athletics by organizing and executing the logistical and operational aspects of home athletic contests and managing lifeguard staffing and pool deck safety compliance upholding the values and mission of the department and the university with a focus on student-centered service.

The hiring range for this position is $45700 - $56500.

Job Duties

  • Direct game-day operations management for home athletic contests in select varsity sports. Serve as the primary on-site administrator to resolve logistical issues coordinate team needs and ensure a high-quality spectator experience.
  • Manage facility setup and takedown ensuring compliance with NCAA UAA and university policies and procedures. Conducts pre-contest inspections of playing surfaces and equipment to mitigate risks and ensure our standards are met prior to each contest. Facilitates post-contest breakdown to prepare facilities for subsequent activities.
  • Hire train and supervise student contest management staff. Manage time reporting and payroll for all student event staff. Develop and implement training manuals and customer service standards for student staff working athletic events.
  • Proactively monitor and address indoor and outdoor facilities issues related to competition venues. Coordinate necessary maintenance and repairs with University Facilities Services and/or outsidecontractors. Oversee all pool mechanical and chemical operations and physical space of pool and locker rooms.
  • Oversee lifeguard staffing to ensure a safe environment for pool-related events and open recreation. Responsible for the recruitment scheduling and monitoring of certified lifeguards. Maintain oversight of lifeguard staff certifications to ensure compliance with safety regulations and university policy.
  • Plan and execute maintenance operations for Athletics van fleet including but not limited to oil changes state inspections damage repair etc. Maintain comprehensive service records to ensure reliable transportation is available for teams and clubs. Oversee assigned staff to schedule necessary visits.

Qualifications and Additional Job Information:

  • This position operates in a gymnasium on courts and may operate outside in varied weather. Must be able to consistently lift and/or move 20 to 30 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Will require nights and weekends depending on contest schedule.
  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience preferably at the college level. Graduate Assistant experience is acceptable.
  • Must have the ability to drive 12-passenger vans.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours early morning night and weekend work is required.

The Universitys pay ranges represent a good faith estimate of what Brandeis reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting.
