SDOW Activities Department: Athletic Complex Maintenance

Classification: Non-Exempt; Hourly Position

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Reports to (Daily): Activities Director

Position Overview: This role is responsible for maintaining our athletic complexes from March 1st though the end of October/middle of November depending on weather and post-seasons needs. This position is responsible for ensuring that our complexes are neat well-maintained and ready to go for District operations. It is considered a part-time position with hours generally expected to be approximately 10 to 15 hours per week. Pay is aligned with our Buildings and Grounds pay schedule with an entry level of $17.11 per hour.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the athletic grounds at The Fields at South Point and Washington High School.
  • Grass Cutting
  • Weed Control
  • Power washing concrete bleachers buildings
  • Landscape maintenance
  • Outdoor activities as assigned related to athletic complex upkeep
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Related Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Activities Director Coaching Staff and Ancillary Staff related to complex maintenance such as Buildings and Grounds Staff.
  • Interact appropriately with students parents and patrons as required.
  • Respond in the case of an emergency including reporting incidents injury and/or identified complex hazards.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: This position has a weekly scheduled time commitment of 10 to 15 hours per week from March 1 through mid-November weather dependent and post-season event dependent. This is not a benefit eligible position.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated under the direction of the Activities Director.

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand walk and sit. Additionally the employee is required to push or lift up to 50 lbs as necessary for project completion. Lastly this job requires the employee to have the vision ability to read handwritten or typed materials and meet multiple demands from several people while interacting with other staff and the public.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is outdoor facility related.
