Associate Sales Manager, Special Markets

Chronicle Books is looking for an Associate Sales Manager Special Markets who will be responsible for the full account management scope of select key accounts nationwide including department stores specialty wholesalers and online accounts other than Amazon. The role champions Chronicle Books and our distribution clients books toys games puzzles and related products. Working closely with the Director of Sales Key Accounts this person prepares buyer presentations tracks orders and sales performance and shares account trends and buyer feedback with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Actively sell manage and service account base with the goal of achieving annual revenue goals for both Chronicle Books and Distribution Client lists.

Arrange and participate in key account meetings regularly; document buyer feedback prepare call reports coordinate follow-up and contribute actionable updates to company-wide reports.

Prepare key account meetings by building Edelweiss collections and PowerPoint presentations gathering information from internal teams and coordinating samples for buyers.

Analyze weekly and monthly sales against the full-year sales goal and communicate relevant trends to the Director of Sales Key Accounts.

Track orders and work closely with Operations to resolve issues and communicate status to stakeholders.

Participate in internal Sales meetings and share updates on account activity and buyer feedback.

Hiring salary range

Depending on location the range for this position will be $68000-$78000 when annualized. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to an applicants education experience knowledge skills abilities and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is eligible for our profit share plan.

Schedule

Employees at Chronicle Books follow a regular hybrid schedule in our San Francisco and New York City offices of at least three (3) in-office days per week and up to five (5) in-office days per week depending on project and business needs.

Three to five years of sales experience or relevant experience with books toys games or stationery.

Strong organization attention to detail initiative and ability to manage competing priorities.

Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with buyers and colleagues at different levels.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with Salesforce and Edelweiss is preferred; publishing experience is a plus.
