Job Summary
SUMMARY
Associate Head Coaching responsibilities will assist with the overall administration and operation of the Regis College Mens Lacrosse Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching and teaching student-athletes recruiting practice planning opponent preparation game-day operations team travel scheduling student-athlete support and compliance with NCAA GNAC and Regis College rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist the Head Coach and coaching staff with the planning and execution of daily practice sessions and practice plans.
- Provide effective on-field instruction and skill development to student-athletes.
- Assist with film breakdown opponent scouting and the development of game plans.
- Assist with game-day operations including personnel management substitutions and bench/penalty box responsibilities.
- Assist with the identification evaluation communication and recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective student-athletes families high school and club coaches and other recruiting contacts.
- Assist with the planning and execution of recruiting events campus visits and other recruiting activities.
- Support the academic personal and athletic development of student-athletes and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Assist with team travel scheduling administrative responsibilities and other operational needs of the program.
- Maintain compliance with NCAA GNAC and Regis College policies rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Department or Head Coach.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Select supervise and evaluate assistant coaches/graduate intern and all support staff for the mens lacrosse team.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- Collegiate lacrosse playing and coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain ethical and professional boundaries with students and student-athletes.
- Ability to positively interact with a diverse population and uphold the universitys commitment to inclusive excellence.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills computer literacy and strong interpersonal skills to work with various college constituencies.
- The ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule.
- The ability to work well as a team member or independently.
- Excellence in prioritizing multiple tasks with attention to detail problem solving and follow-through to consistently meet expectations and deadlines.
- Strong management skills and mentoring ability for interns and assistants.
- Appropriate certifications in First Aid/CPR and AED are required within an appropriate time of hire and must be completed (per NCAA regulations) before the beginning of the competitive season.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position requires the ability to lift in excess of 40 lbs and requires working on nights and weekends.
COMPENSATION: $18000 - $21500 annually.
