ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR MITES PROGRAMS School of Engineering - MIT Introduction to Technology Engineering and Science (MITES) reports to the Executive Director and leads and develops a team of seven professional staff members to align programs across operational areas and to foster collaboration among team members and business partners to fully implement MITES outreach programs; develops and monitors systems workflows and training to ensure the safety of students and staff; and manages the recruitment and onboarding of more than 100 seasonal program staff each year.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: A minimum of five years of supervisory experience with direct reports including performance management and demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations when needed; experience in program planning and development; Bachelors degree in science engineering or education; and ability to work a varied schedule with evening and weekend hours including in-person programmatic activities on Saturdays (16 sessions) summer residential (June and July) and virtual programming in the evenings when in session. PREFERRED: Advanced management and outstanding leadership experience: seven or more years in educational or nonprofit settings including supervising other managers overseeing budgets strategic planning and organizational growth; proven ability to thrive in dynamic growth-oriented environments with experience managing multiple priorities meeting tight timelines and scaling; and experienced with high school students and leading undergraduates graduate students and professionals; masters degree in education public administration higher education administration nonprofits or a related field equivalent; and experience at MIT.
