Location: Long Island (Uniondale) NY (Hybrid opportunity)Experience Level: 3 years of litigation experience About the Role: Harris Beach Murtha Cullina PLLC seeks an energetic knowledgeable mid-level litigation associate to assist with all types of municipal litigation matters in a thriving and highly productive litigation Litigation Associate will have the opportunity to:Obtain significant state and federal litigation and trial experience in a team environmentOversee a significant case load from inceptionMeet and create contacts with New York State and Federal Court personnelActively participate in their career development and growth practically and professionallyArgue before State and Federal Courts; Represent our clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedingsTake and defend depositionsBe an active research team member to assist clients with various factual and legal issuesCollaborate with senior partners on case management and strategyDraft legal documents i.e. motions pleadings memoranda discovery demandsObtain experience factually researching business and corporate policies and programs by examining records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigationsWork Environment and Expectations:Hybrid work opportunity based in our Uniondale officeMinimum annual billable requirement of 1800 hoursDirect client interaction and opportunities to build long-term professional relationshipsMeaningful courtroom experience and substantive responsibilityProfessional development mentorship and advancement opportunities within a growing litigation practiceApplications are encouraged and desired if you have:3 years experience in litigation requiredAdmission to New York bar requiredMust have Juris Doctorate degree with an ABA accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the barExceptionally strong writing skills are requiredMust have excellent verbal communication skillsDemonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workloadDemonstrated ability to absorb process and understand new information rapidlyMust be able to manage competing prioritiesMaintains high standards of performanceExhibits conscientiousness dedication self-discipline and a sense of responsibilityMust have a professional cooperative positive and flexible attitudeAbility to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organizationMilitary experience welcomeSalary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic location.
