Associate Attorney

Clyde & Co US LLP seeks an associate to join our growing Los Angeles office. This practice represents international and domestic insurers in complex insurance coverage litigation matters with regards to all manner of liability policies including commercial general liability and focuses on insurance for industries that drive Southern Californias industries: construction energy entertainment and maritime.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

• Analyze insurance policies drafting coverage opinions and providing coverage advice and recommendations to clients;

• Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis and draft memoranda;

• Draft and review pleadings memos briefs discovery motions with supporting briefs and other legal correspondence;

• Prepare formal correspondence to opposing counsel and other parties;

• Attend depositions hearings and mediations as required.

• Is admitted to practice in California.
• Has civil litigation experience.
• Has excellent legal research writing and oral communication skills.
• Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.

The salary range for this position is $167000 - $185000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
