Position Overview
This is a substantive litigation role offering real case ownership from day one. The Associate Attorney will work across a diverse range of complex civil matters including professional liability construction litigation product liability drugs and medical devices life sciences and toxic torts. The ideal candidate brings 13 years of civil litigation experience and is ready to take on meaningful responsibility within a supportive and collaborative environment.
What Youll Do
Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution including drafting pleadings motions and discovery
Develop and execute litigation strategies in close collaboration with partners clients and expert witnesses
Prepare for and participate in depositions hearings and trials
Conduct focused legal research and produce well-crafted memoranda to support case strategy
Maintain proactive professional client communication including regular status updates and strategic guidance
Meet critical case deadlines while driving matters forward with efficiency and precision
Work side by side with partners on complex high-value cases across multiple practice areas
Qualifications
Required:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active admission to the Rhode Island Bar
13 years of civil litigation experience in Rhode Island state and federal courts
Experience taking and defending depositions and managing discovery
Strong legal research writing and analytical skills
Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions
Self-starter with strong advocacy skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently
