Cushman & Wakefields Equity Debt and Structured Finance group is a premier Capital Markets advisory team providing a myriad of capital solutions for complex transactions on behalf of institutional corporate and private investment clients offerings. These transactions include permanent bridge construction and recapitalization financings throughout the capital stack including first mortgages B-notes mezzanine financings preferred equity and common equity.

Position Summary
The Capital Markets Associate will serve as dedicated support to a leading Atlanta-based broker team within Cushman & Wakefields Capital Markets Equity Debt & Structured Finance (EDSF) group. The team represents owners of all major property types with an emphasis on the Atlanta market and markets in the Southeastern U.S. and across the country.

Cushman & Wakefields Equity Debt and Structured Finance group (C&W EDSF) is a premier capital markets team providing solutions for complex transactions on behalf of institutional corporate and private investment clients offering a range of debt advisory services including construction bridge and permanent financing throughout the capital stack including first mortgages B-notes mezzanine financings and preferred equity.

The Associate will support all phases of the financing process including leading the preparation of detailed financial analysis and valuations directly assisting brokers in preparing proposals for new business opportunities leading the preparation and execution financial models and marketing materials for new assignments directly marketing debt and equity opportunities to prospective lenders and investors and presenting summaries of the teams marketing efforts to clients.

This role will be based in Atlanta Georgia and the candidate must be available to work on-site in the Cushman & Wakefield office located at 1180 Peachtree Street. Team members may be expected to travel and work outside normal operating hours to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have the desire to grow in the commercial real estate industry have a strong background in financial analysis possess excellent writing skills and a high attention to detail be self-motivated with superb time management skills to prioritize deadlines and have a strong work ethic.

Job Description

Essential Duties

  • Lead the preparation of complex debt sizing and development models which reflect the projected financial performance of properties and present potential debt and equity financing structures
  • Prepare debt sizings (and review sizings prepared by others) to determine possible financing options for each deal
  • Lead the collection and evaluation of due diligence for debt and equity transactions including making necessary inquiries to clients to ensure that required information is provided in a timely manner
  • Lead the preparation of debt and/or equity offering memoranda that conveys all particulars of a transaction in a professionally written format presented to clients and lenders (financial projections market and location issues tenant analysis and persuasively written summaries/highlights)
  • Manage the graphic design process of debt and/or equity memoranda in conjunction with a graphic designer including creating tables graphs and charts and writing technical summaries of all particulars of a transaction
  • Research analyze and evaluate market feasibility for debt and/or equity transactions in a way that supports the request for financing of a given asset
  • Understand and review real estate documents (leases operating statements rent rolls loan documents appraisals etc.) to determine if any issues or inconsistencies exist
  • Participate in client-facing and lender-facing conversations including speaking roles on lender marketing calls client pitch meetings and live Q&A.
  • Generate weekly marketing status reports and quote matrices and present those deliverables to clients in a professional manner
  • Prepare and manage lists of potential lenders investors and contacts for use in marketing efforts.
  • Assist brokers and analysts during the closing process by interacting with lenders and clients to help solve problems and facilitate efficient closings
  • Assist in conducting property tours and lender inspections
  • Strengthen the teams process discipline across underwriting debt and equity memoranda development presentation structuring and dealflow management to help grow the teams deal volume and revenue
  • Lead the onboarding development and day-to-day management of junior analysts including training delegating responsibilities and supporting their process development.
  • Play an active role in business development meetings and coordinate strategies for generating new business.
  • Other job duties as needed based on transaction assignment and team structure

Other Requirements & Administrative Duties

  • Bachelors degree required preferably with a focus on finance real estate or accounting
  • 4 years of real estate and/or finance experience preferably with a firm engaged in commercial real estate consulting/appraisal investing lending or brokerage
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build analyze and summarize complex financial models in Excel and Argus
  • Strong written communication skills developing high-level analysis summaries
  • Passion for client delivery with strong emphasis on producing high-quality work meeting deadlines andstrong personal initiative to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to function in a team-oriented setting while working independently with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Strong time management organization and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and work in a high-volume fast past transaction-oriented environment
  • Takes charge and is proactive in all aspects of role
  • Growth oriented mindset desire to learn and shares knowledge to help others succeed
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advance Excel skills preferred

  • Ability and willingness work extended hours including some weekends as needed.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement the geographic area in which the work will be performed market pay rates in that area and the candidates experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 85000.00 - $100000.00
