Entry-Level Fund Accountant

Join our Fund Accounting team and build a strong foundation in investment operations and financial reporting. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in accounting finance and investment funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain daily weekly and monthly fund accounting records.
• Assist in the calculation and verification of Net Asset Values (NAVs) for investment funds.
• Reconcile cash securities and other balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor and resolve accounting breaks and reconciliation discrepancies.
• Process and review investment transactions including purchases sales income and corporate actions.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls policies and operating procedures.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Prior internship or accounting/finance experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of mutual funds hedge funds private equity funds or other investment vehicles.
• Ability to work well both independently and as a team
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Adaptability in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

Salary Range:

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
