DUTIES: Calvin University seeks an Assistant Professor - Business Analytics based out of our campus at 3201 BURTON STREET SE GRAND RAPIDS MI 49546. This position does not require travel.

Calvin University invites applicants for a full time Assistant Professor Business Analytics within the School of Business. We desire an individual who is willing to form a vision for the future of our new BS in Business Analytics. This is an opportunity to provide leadership to holistically design a program that prepares future business professionals to strategically plan applying the full breadth of technologies for data collection (e.g. IoT RFID Social Media etc.) data storage (RDBMS NoSQL) analysis from foundational statistical methods to machine learning and communication through written oral and visual means (i.e. data visualization). In addition we strive for a program that establishes a symbiotic relationship with a broad range of industries.

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES

Faculty members typically teach 24 semester hours per academic year. Faculty are expected to pursue an active scholarly agenda; to teach effectively; to advise students well; to serve the university department students and the wider community; and to engage actively with professional associations and learned societies e.g. Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) American Accounting Association (AAA) American Statistical Association (ASA) and The Academy of Managements Communication Digital Technology and Organization (CTO) Division.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. (or foreign academic equivalent) in Business Analytics Information Systems Data Science Business Statistics or a related business discipline. Alternatively Masters (or foreign academic equivalent) in Business Analytics Information Systems Data Science Business Statistics or a related business discipline and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: Experience teaching at the Undergraduate or Masters level; experience with Enterprise Resource Planning; and experience with AI usage in Business. Any suitable combination of education training or experience is acceptable.
