Position Summary:

The Assistant Director Campaign supports the planning and implementation of NYBGs Branching Out fundraising campaign and related efforts.The Assistant Director will assist NYBG leadership in securing significant newphilanthropic investments to realizean ambitious capital construction program and new programmatic initiatives.The Assistant Director combines proactive project management and quantitative analysis with exceptional persuasive writing skills to help NYBG leadership plan prepare for and track thesecampaign fundraising activities.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain campaign budgets and tracking documents partnering as needed with colleagues across Advancement Finance Capital Projects and other areas.
  • Work with NYBG leadership to turn strategy into action by drafting compelling and consequential fundraising communications including pitch decks grant budgets proposals acknowledgement letters informal updates and stewardship reports.
  • Record donor activity and correspondence in database (Raisers Edge) and files.
  • Prepare for and/or staff site visits for donors managed by the Chief Advancement Officer their guests and other VIPs as needed including leading tours etc.
  • Assist with staffing NYBGs fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Assist with donor/prospect research and briefings to support campaign activities.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in non-profit fundraising preferably in a comparable cultural educational or scientific institution.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with an ability to plan and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Sharp attention to detail.
  • Exceptional persuasive writing proofreading and editing skills.
  • Experience with visual and multimedia persuasive communications.
  • Experience preparing grant budgets.
  • Propriety thoughtfulness sound judgment and discretion.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings/ weekends for events and donor visits.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Outlook PowerPoint and particularly Excel) required. Experience with Raisers Edge or a comparable CRM preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position the employee is required to at minimum stand; walk; sit; use hands the employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions. Work under low moderate or loud work conditions.

Baseline Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Salary: commensurate with experience within the range of $75000-$80000
