Assistant Controller

Were currently seeking a Assistant Controller to join our Headquarters team!The Assistant Controller is responsible for leading the Companys accounting operations and ensuring the integrity accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This position oversees the general ledger month-end close fixed assets leases accounts payable revenue accounting and field accounting processes for a multi-unit retail organization with over $1 billion in annual revenue. Partners closely with Finance Operations Tax Internal Audit IT and external auditors to maintain a strong control environment support business growth initiatives and drive continuous process improvement. This role leads a team of accounting professionals responsible for maintaining compliance with U.S. You Will Do:Financial Reporting & Close Process:Lead the monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes ensuring timely and accurate journal entries account reconciliations flux analyses and financial compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting preparation of supporting schedules for SEC reporting if accounting developments and implement new accounting & Multi-Unit Accounting Operations:Ensure accurate accounting for hundreds of retail locations and centralized support scalable accounting processes to support growth through new store openings acquisitions and business with operations leadership to improve financial controls and reporting visibility across the field Controls & Compliance:Maintain and enhance a robust SOX-compliant control internal and external audits and serve as a primary accounting compliance with company policies financial regulations and accounting Leadership:Lead mentor and develop a high-performing accounting performance goals and succession plans for accounting managers and a culture of accountability continuous improvement and customer and retain top accounting Improvement & Systems:Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and improve with Finance Systems and IT teams to optimize ERP and financial reporting accounting participation in system implementations upgrades and standardization and best practices across accounting Partnership:Partner with FP&A to explain financial results and support budgeting and forecasting with Treasury Tax Legal Procurement and Operations on strategic M&A activities including due diligence integration planning and purchase executive-level presentations and analyses for senior : The job duties above provide a general sense of the role; though additional duties may be assigned as You Will Shine:Education:Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent :10 years of progressive accounting Public Accountant (CPA) Skills & Abilities:Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP financial reporting internal controls and audit within a large retail consumer services restaurant hospitality or multi-unit operating leadership analytical abilities and communication skills with ability to team building personnel coaching and development ERP experience (Oracle Cloud preferred).Preferred:Public accounting experience with a Big Four or national accounting supporting publicly traded of lease accounting (ASC 842) revenue recognition (ASC 606) and fixed asset with large-scale system implementations and process automation initiatives.
