Assistant Behavior Specialist

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm Job Location Type: In Person

The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school dedicated to providing year-round educational vocational and daily living services to students in grades K-12. What to expect.

You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior intervention plans collect data and provide support to students with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
• Collecting and accurately recording data on client behavior during intervention sessions.
• Assisting in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.
• Providing training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
• Participating in team meetings case conferences and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

What we need from you.

• One of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • Bachelors degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
  • Associate degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience.
• Must meet Sheppard Pratts requirements to operate a company vehicle:
  • Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Have a valid drivers license.
  • Driving record with 2 points or less for the most 3 recent years of driving history.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education and years and level of related experience.
