The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Bakery Department. This position helps ensure exceptional customer service high-quality products food safety compliance and achievement of sales and profitability goals. The Assistant Bakery Manager assists with supervising associates merchandising inventory management production planning and maintaining department standards.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service- Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.
- Assist customers with product selection special orders and bakery-related inquiries.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Promote bakery items seasonal offerings and special promotions.
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Bakery Department.
- Ensure production levels support sales customer demand and product freshness.
- Maintain department appearance cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure proper product rotation and freshness standards are followed.
- Support implementation of merchandising plans and sales initiatives.
- Maintain high standards for product quality consistency and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety sanitation and health department regulations.
- Monitor product dating storage conditions and handling procedures.
- Ensure all bakery equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Assist with ordering and inventory control processes.
- Monitor product movement and adjust ordering to minimize shrink.
- Support achievement of department sales labor and profitability goals.
- Verify pricing accuracy and promotional execution.
- Assist with training coaching and developing bakery associates.
- Provide daily direction and support to department team members.
- Promote a culture of teamwork accountability and customer service excellence.
- Assist with scheduling and workload distribution as directed by the Bakery Manager.
- Serve as acting department leader in the Bakery Managers absence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies safety standards and operating procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment for customers and associates.
- Report and address safety hazards equipment issues and operational concerns promptly.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
