About the Company

Our client builds custom made-to-order machines in a smaller low-volume shop in Waterloo Iowa.

The Role

The Assembly/Machine Builder builds custom machines to drawing specifications taking a machine from start to finish. The role calls for strong mechanical aptitude experience building or repairing industrial or heavy equipment and the ability to work from prints sketches or verbal instructions. This is a first shift position. Relocation is not offered so local candidates are preferred. The role is subject to a drug screening and background check.

What You Will Do
  • Build custom made-to-order machines per drawing specifications.
  • Work from prints sketches or verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Work safely in all operations of the job.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma
  • 1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or in mechanical work
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • An understanding of hydraulic components and how they function
  • A basic understanding of 12V wiring
  • Comfortable with wrenches air tools overhead cranes and steel handling
  • Forklift experience or the ability to be trained
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs and to stand all day
  • Fluent written and spoken English
Nice to Have
  • Experience working on cars or any mechanic background

REVENUE: Net 12.5% of first-year salary. Est. fee per hire $6.2K-$7.5K; 1 seat(s) up to $7.5K if all filled.

TARGET COMPANIES: TSG-suggested (client did not name any): John Deere Caterpillar CNH AGCO Vermeer Kinze Wabash Great Dane Terex Oshkosh Bobcat and local machine builders / heavy-equipment repair shops. Do not source from the clients own plant.

BEST-FIT CANDIDATE: 1 years of mechanical assembly or industrial / heavy-equipment repair; reads blueprints; hydraulics and 12V wiring knowledge; mechanic background a plus. 1st shift. Local to the Waterloo IA area only (no relocation). US work authorization no sponsorship.
