Assembly Engineering Supervisor

Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily manufacturing operations for laser component and subassembly production.
Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand quality and delivery requirements.
Monitor key manufacturing metrics including productivity yield scrap throughput and on-time delivery.
Ensure efficient utilization of labor equipment materials and facility resources.
Drive capacity planning and resource allocation to support business growth.
Manage coach and develop supervisors engineers technicians and production associates.
Establish performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
Foster a culture of accountability teamwork safety and continuous improvement.
Support workforce development through training and succession planning.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues.
Ensure adherence to documented manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity reduce waste and improve product quality.
Utilize KPI data and operational metrics to drive decision-making.
Support automation and manufacturing technology improvements.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing Operations Management or related technical discipline.
7 years of manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Experience in precision assembly optics photonics laser systems electronics or similar high-tech manufacturing environments.
Strong understanding of production planning quality systems and manufacturing operations.
Proven leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in laser photonics optical assembly fiber optics or electro-optical component manufacturing.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
Knowledge of cleanroom manufacturing operations.
Strong engineering background with a solid understanding of laser crystals and laser assemblies.
Hands-on experience with laser alignment and crystal assembly processes.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Depending on location this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
