ASL SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER

ASL Sign Language Interpreterto interpret for astudent

Requirements: Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree with interpreting as a major emphasis or experience and formal training in interpreting.

This person should be a qualified and/or credentialed educational interpreter both within the general and special education setting. This person will foster independence for the student in all settings by supporting social behaviors through total communication access at the students individual level.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Interpret programs meetings mainstream classes andstudent activities.
2. Provide Instructions or planning for student
3. Act as a resource person regarding manual communication related issues.
4. Exhibit compliance with district regulations reimbursement requirements and job responsibilities.
5. Demonstrate competence in sign language.
6. Other duties as assigned
