Artificial Intelligence Patent Agent

An established Intellectual Property practice is seeking a registered Patent Agent in Washington DC. The role involves patent work for clients developing advanced software and AI technologies including natural language processing machine learning and large language models.

• Draft U.S. patent applications and prosecute them before the USPTO.
  
• Work with inventors to understand new technologies and develop effective claim strategies.
  
• Prepare Office Action responses and help clients make prosecution decisions.
  
• Contribute to patent opinions and client counseling.
  
• Provide technical support on litigation and other patent matters.
  

You will work alongside patent professionals with technical and industry experience on matters for both established companies and emerging businesses.

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
  
• USPTO registration and prior patent prosecution experience.
  
• Professional experience in AI machine learning large language models or software. Experience with natural language processing is especially valuable.
  
• An advanced degree in Computer Science is strongly preferred.
  

The expected base salary range is $140000$200000 depending on patent prosecution experience technical credentials qualifications and overall fit.
