Position Highlights

Pima County Cooperative Extension is seeking an Art Program Coordinator to design implement and evaluate Cooperative Extension and Tucson Village Farm programs in assigned program areas such as agriculture youth development (e.g. 4H) natural resources family and consumer sciences or community development. The role will coordinate art activities at Tucson Village Farms Big and Little Farm and other sites and will interpret program data to recommend improvements and provide guidance to support staff and volunteers with moderate independence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Program Developmentand Implementation:

  • Develop andimplement standard extension educational programs delivered through county andregional extension offices in assigned focus areas specifically art andvisual arts using established research-based approaches.
  • Adapt curriculaand teaching methods to fit local audiences (for example youth producers orfamilies) while maintaining core program content.
  • Coordinateschedules locations and resources for programs offered at Tucson VillageFarm.

Community Needsand Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaboratewith local stakeholders and advisory groups to identify community needs relatedto art programming.
  • Participate inneeds assessments using simple surveys listening sessions and review ofexisting data.
  • Translatestakeholder input into recommended program adjustments or new initiativeswithin assigned areas.

Program Evaluationand Improvement:

  • Collect andanalyze participation and outcome data for new art programming to assesseffectiveness against goals.
  • Interpretresults and recommend changes to content delivery methods or outreachstrategies to improve program quality and reach.
  • Prepareevaluation summaries and contribute narrative sections for internal andexternal reports including grant reports.

Community Engagementand Education:

  • Provide adviceand guidance on effective ways to engage communities in art extension programsincluding strategies for reaching underserved audiences.
  • Facilitatecreative art workshops training sessions and demonstrations in assignedtopics to build participant knowledge and skills.
  • Represent theextension program at community events and meetings helping build and maintainrelationships that support ongoing engagement.

Operations Resourcesand Mentoring:

  • Manage programresources for art programming gather donations and found materials withlimited budgets and schedules to meet established objectives.
  • Provideguidance and informal mentoring to extension assistants student workers 4-HHealthy Living Ambassadors and volunteers to support consistent high-qualityprogram delivery.
  • Supportmarketing and promotion of programs through digital media newsletters andother communication channels.

KnowledgeSkills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Generalknowledge of extension program design implementation and evaluation methods.
  • Skill incoordinating multistep projects interpreting data and recommendingimprovements to programs or processes.
  • Strongfacilitation and public speaking skills with different audiences includingyouth producers and community groups.
  • Ability tocollaborate with community partners listen to their needs and incorporatefeedback into program planning.
  • Ability to workwith moderate guidance manage competing priorities and adapt to changingcommunity needs.
  • Proficiencywith office and data tools (spreadsheets databases presentation software) fortracking and reporting program results.
