Position Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career architectural professional to build hands-on project experience with a nationally established commercial architecture firm. As a Project Coordinator with MCG Architecture you will support Project Directors Project Managers Designers and Job Captains in the delivery of retail restaurant mixed-use storage hospitality office and other commercial projects.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys Revit production project coordination technical learning and seeing how projects move from early planning through permitting and construction administration. You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle while developing the skills needed to grow into a Job Captain Project Architect or Project Manager role.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and update Revit models under the direction of senior project staff
- Produce plans elevations sections details schedules diagrams and presentation materials
- Assist with design development permit and construction document packages
- Maintain project drawing sets directories consultant files transmittals meeting notes and document-control records
- Incorporate redlines accurately and completely
- Verify coordinated revisions are reflected throughout the drawing set
- Assist with building code zoning accessibility product and jurisdictional research
- Document research findings for review by Project Managers and Job Captains
- Support civil structural mechanical electrical plumbing landscape signage and specialty-consultant coordination
- Help identify drawing and model conflicts
- Assist with agency submissions plan-check responses permit tracking and document revisions
- Support construction administration through RFIs submittals field reports punch lists and closeout documentation
- Participate in internal project meetings and selected client or consultant meetings
- Record project decisions action items and assigned responsibilities
- Follow through on assignments and communicate potential schedule or coordination issues
- Progressively assume ownership of small projects or defined project components
- Continue developing technical knowledge code understanding and project-delivery skills
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Architecture or a related design discipline
- Experience: Approximately 2-5 years of architectural experience
- Internship Experience: Relevant architectural internships may count toward the experience requirement
- Software: Working proficiency in Revit
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction documents building systems codes accessibility and consultant coordination
- Drawing Skills: Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
- Organization: Strong attention to detail accuracy follow-through and time management
- Communication: Strong verbal written and collaborative communication skills
- Work Style: Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Architecture Program: Candidates completing an accredited architecture program may be considered with relevant internship experience and a strong portfolio
- Software: Experience with AutoCAD Bluebeam Adobe Creative Suite SketchUp or architectural visualization tools
- Project Experience: Exposure to retail restaurant commercial tenant improvement mixed-use hospitality office or self-storage projects
- Permitting: Familiarity with permit sets plan check responses agency coordination and jurisdictional research
- Construction Administration: Exposure to RFIs submittals field reports punch lists or closeout documentation
- Licensure Path: Interest in pursuing architectural licensure

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $65000-$85000 depending on experience education technical capability and commercial project exposure
- Estimated total annual compensation package of approximately $86100-$108900

The estimated package value includes base salary a combined target bonus modeled at 10% of salary an estimated 4% employer 401(k) match and approximately $12000 in employer-paid employee health coverage.
