Application Engineer (Part-Time Automotive HVAC & Electrical)

$40 to $50 per hour plus a $20000 to $30000 annual guarantee

The role

A premier automotive electronics supplier is looking for a highly experienced technical engineer for a part-time consulting-style role. This is peer-to-peer engineering engagement not sales. You will use your technical depth and your existing relationships inside GM Ford or Stellantis to help win and shape technical business.

What youll do

• Maintain and build technical relationships within HVAC and electrical engineering divisions at GM Ford or Stellantis
• Translate incoming technical RFQs and help structure the response
• Engage OEM engineering contacts engineer to engineer diagnosing pain points and opening early conversations
• Work alongside internal sales executives to follow up on live opportunities

What youll need

• Background as a Design Release Engineer (DRE) Chief Engineer or Commodity Engineer at GM Ford or Stellantis
• Specialist domain experience in HVAC and electrical systems
• A live network inside OEM engineering
• Comfortable working independently with minimal structure
