Program Summary

The National Science Foundation (NSF) manages the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). The USAP supports all U.S. scientific research and related logistics in Antarctica and aboard USAP vessels that operate along the continental margin and in the Southern Ocean. Science within the Antarctic research portfolio is chosen and funded by NSF and other Federal agencies including NASA NOAA and the Department of Energy. The purpose of the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC) is to enable that science.

All participants are responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority. This includes compliance with all ASESC environmental health & safety and quality assurance requirements.

Job Summary

TheProcurement Supply Chain & Property Packet Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials equipment services and property management functions necessary to support Antarctic operations scientific research and infrastructure activities acrossthe Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC). This position serves as the primary interface between operational stakeholders subcontractors suppliers government representatives and internal functional teams to ensure procurement supply chain and property requirements are effectively integrated into program operations.

*This is a remote position based in the US.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for procurement planning sourcing strategies inventory management property accountability and supply chain performance

  • Coordinate with operations science support logistics engineering facilities information technology and finance teams to ensure timely acquisition and delivery of required goods and services

  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements company policies government regulations and property management standards

  • Oversee government-furnished property contractor-acquired property inventory control systems asset tracking and property accountability programs

  • Monitor supply chain performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency reduce costs mitigate risks and enhance customer support

  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives supplier relationship management and subcontractor performance oversight

  • Coordinate material forecasts demand planning inventory levels and replenishment activities to support operational readiness

  • Support audits compliance reviews property inventories and contractor performance assessments

  • Supervise assigned personnel including workload assignment performance management training mentoring and professional development activities

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration Procurement Operations Management or a related field; equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education

  • Typically 7 years of experience in procurement supply chain logistics property management or a related field

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex supply chain and procurement activities involving multiple stakeholders and operational priorities

  • Experience with property management asset accountability inventory management systems and materials planning processes

  • Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) inventory management procurement and property management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field

  • Experience supporting government contracts large-scale transitions or program mobilizations

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations transportation management international shipping customs and import/export processes

  • Experience developing key performance indicators (KPIs) dashboards and operational reporting tools
