Aircraft Structures Mechanic

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic at Beale Air Force Base California for an approximately one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support aircraft modification activities by fabricating assembling installing and repairing internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces in accordance with engineering drawings technical manuals and applicable requirements.

• 4 years of fabrication experience.
• Experience with aircraft structural fabrication and assembly.
• 2 years of aircraft part fabrication experience.
• 2 years of metal fabrication experience.
• Experience laying out fabricating assembling installing and repairing aircraft structures and surfaces.
• Ability to read and work from technical manuals engineering drawings and other aircraft maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of aircraft structural repair and modification practices.
• Ability to perform precision fabrication and structural installation work.
• Ability to follow established aircraft maintenance safety and quality procedures.
• Security clearance required.

• U-2 aircraft experience.
• Fighter aircraft experience including F-16 F/A-18 F-22 or F-35.
• Previous aircraft modification experience.
• Previous training in Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and Tool Control.
• Training in non-powered Ground Support Equipment.
• Egress Systems Familiarization training.
• HAZMAT storage and handling training.
• Aircraft records management experience or training.

• Plan and lay out aircraft structural fabrication and modification work.
• Fabricate aircraft structural components and parts.
• Assemble and install internal and external aircraft structures.
• Repair aircraft structures and surfaces.
• Perform aircraft modification work in accordance with technical manuals and engineering drawings.
• Support metal fabrication and aircraft structural installation activities.
• Ensure completed work meets applicable engineering quality and safety requirements.
• Maintain proper FOD prevention and tool-control practices.
• Follow applicable hazardous-material handling procedures.
• Support aircraft documentation and records requirements as assigned.

• Full-time onsite at Beale Air Force Base California.
• Standard schedule planned as five 8-hour shifts.
• Production surges may require six 10-hour or six 12-hour shifts.
• Applicable California overtime will be paid during required overtime periods.

• DoD per diem available for the Beale AFB assignment.
• 100% of applicable per diem for the first 90 days.
• 55% of applicable per diem from day 91 through assignment completion.
