Project Description:
The mission of HFP is to ensure the safety and wholesomeness of the nations dairy products plant foods beverages seafood dietary supplements cosmetic products infant formula medical foods food and color additives and all ingredients that come into contact with foods. The objective of this Task Order is to provide administrative support services that ensure the continuity and effectiveness of HFPs essential business functions and operational requirements.
Job Summary:
The AI Implementation Specialist performs and integrates moderately complex professional Artificial Intelligence (AI) services in several operational functional or organizational areas. Designs and conducts studies analyses
research; provides expert professional and consulting services; and prepares presentations and recommendations.
Responsibilities:
The AI Implementation Specialist will perform the following:
- Design and implement structured compliance and enforcement knowledge repositories that integrate with Elsas capabilities.
- Establish appropriate taxonomy and metadata standards for searchable etrievable information.
- Assist with the development of quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and relevance of stored information.
- Assist OCE leadership in assessing office needs and developing a plan for AI Agent and prompt development.
- Develop standardized prompt templates for common office use cases.
- Create a prompt library with examples categorized by function and complexity.
- Test and refine prompts to maximize output quality and consistency.
- Develop user guides quick reference materials and video tutorials.
- Provide ongoing consultation to office users implementing Elsa in their workflows.
- Gather user feedback and identify common pain points or knowledge gaps and make recommendations for improvements.
- Assist with training staff to incorporate Elsa into their workflows.
- Must have 3 years of software development experience with at least 1 year focused on AI/ML or LLM-based application development
- Strong proficiency in Python with experience building and deploying AI-powered applications
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g. Anthropic Claude OpenAI GPT Google Gemini) and agentic frameworks (e.g. LangChain LangGraph)
- Experience with prompt engineering techniques including chain-of-thought RAG
- Familiarity with vector databases embeddings and semantic search (e.g. Pinecone Weaviate ChromaDB pgvector)
- Understanding of responsible AI principles including transparency and human oversight in agentic systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Have working experience with FDA
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science Software Engineering or relevant field (Preferred)
- Relevant certifications in AI/ML cloud or data engineering (e.g. AWS ML Specialty Google Professional ML Engineer) (Preferred)
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Public Trust clearance. Due to contract requirements candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to be eligible.
