Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent for a 3 month contract (with possibility of extension and/or conversion to perm) in Kent WA to support procurement and supply chain activities for various aerospace and technology systems. This position plays a key role in managing suppliers negotiating contracts and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of critical materials. Theis position will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards.

Duration: 3 month contract (potential for extension or conversion)

This role offers the opportunity to drive efficiency and innovation in supply chain management while contributing to cutting-edge aerospace and engineering projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers to support the external development of aerospace systems.

  • Prioritize and execute program requirements to meet business and mission needs.

  • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) / Requests for Quote (RFQs) and perform price analyses.

  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal contract negotiations.

  • Construct and manage various contract types including long-term procurement agreements sourcing partnerships and strategic contracts.

  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to final payment and resolve any issues.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Ensure materials are delivered on time within budget and meet technical requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management Finance or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience in procurement and supplier management (or 3 years with a Masters degree).

  • Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and various contract types (FFP T&M CPFF CPIF).

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with experience managing supplier relationships.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills with experience tracking program metrics.

  • Understanding of AS9100 standards and engineering data (specifications source control drawings).

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Aerospace or Space industry.

  • Knowledge of Avionics or Fluid components procurement.

  • Familiarity with ITAR/EAR regulations for import/export compliance.

  • CPSM CSCP or PMP certification.

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint Jira and SharePoint.
