Job Summary
Carilion Clinic is seeking anAdvanced PracticeProvider (APP) Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitionerto join our Emergency Medicine team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys variety high-acuity medicine and working as part of a collaborative Emergency Medicine team. APPs are integral members of our department and have the opportunity to practice acrossall areas of the Emergency Department gaining broad clinical experience while caring for a diverse patient population.
With more than88000 patient visits each year you will encounter a wide range of illnesses and injuriesfrom lower-acuity concerns to complex medical emergencies and trauma.
Responsibilities include evaluating diagnosing and treating patients; ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies; performing procedures within scope of practice; developing treatment and disposition plans; and collaborating closely with Emergency Medicine physicians nurses specialists and other members of the care team.
Scheduling & Flexibility
Emergency Medicine requires 24/7 coverage and shifts includedays mids overnights weekends and holidays. We are committed to providing afair and equitable scheduling processacross the APP team.

Who Were Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have completed apostgraduate Emergency Medicine fellowship. We will also consider candidates with:
At least one year of Emergency Medicine experience
Family Medicine or Internal Medicine experience combined with Urgent Care experience
Strong new graduates who have completed robust Emergency Medicine clinical rotationsand demonstrate excellent clinical skills judgment and readiness for a fast-paced environment

Education:Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
Experience:Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/ department preferred.
Licensure/Certification:Current Physician Assistants license (PA) required. DEA licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced life support is preferred and is required for those who may use a defibrillator in their practice.
Other:Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinics malpractice insurance carrier. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Maintains open and supportive communications between all department members and other employees patients and their family members. Commitment to continued professional development.
Compensation Range:
$107993.60 - $172785.60Employee pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications credentials education and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
