UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level Advanced Linux Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team within UFIT.

Competitive candidates will be self-motivated organized and eager to learn with outstanding communication skills. You will lead medium to large projects and coordinate teams responsible for maintenance installation configuration and deployment of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

• Linux Administration of Enterprise Applications
• PeopleSoft maintenance and administration
• Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible Terraform GitLab etc.
• Large scale Linux administration
• Assist Linux Platform Team in architecture and implementation
• Provide leadership advice and recommendations on enterprise systems administration and management technologies
• Mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members

The ideal candidate will possess the following education experience and skills:

• Bachelors degree
• Expertise in Installation Architecture/Design and Management of Enterprise Application Infrastructure in large-scale environments using on-premises and cloud deployments
• Proficiency with automation scripting and configuration management systems such as: Puppet Ansible GitLab CI/CD and Python
• Ability to configure load balancer appliances policies and virtual server load balancing
• Experience with large scale Linux System management with the ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting
• Expertise with orchestration tools such as Terraform
• Proficient with monitoring systems experience such as: Nagios Zabbix

This is not a remote work position and is located in Gainesville FL.
