Position Title: Administrative Assistant I
Location: Platteville Wisconsin 53818
Duration: 5 Months
Work Schedule: Daily including Weekends (7am - 7pm)
Pay rate: $15.00 /hr

Summary: We are seeking reliable and compassionate individuals to support operations within an Isolation Housing Unit. This role is responsible for assisting residents during their stay by managing check-in and check-out procedures and coordinating meal delivery services. The ideal candidate is comfortable using technology possesses strong communication skills and can remain active throughout the workday.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Student Support & Wellness:
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for students residing in the designated isolation/quarantine residence hall.
  • Conduct regular scheduled check-ins with students to assess basic needs identify concerns and ensure they have access to appropriate resources.
  • Maintain a welcoming respectful and supportive presence while recognizing that students may be experiencing stress isolation or uncertainty.
  • Help students access basic-needs resources including food personal care items academic support technology transportation resources or other appropriate campus/community services.
  • Respond to student questions and concerns and connect students with the appropriate university department or professional when the issue falls outside the scope of the position.
  • Coordinate and monitor meal deliveries to ensure students receive meals and accommodate documented dietary needs or other approved arrangements.
  • Coordinate delivery of essential supplies and personal items as appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory of commonly needed supplies and communicate when replenishment is necessary.
  • Coordinate processes for laundry dishes linens trash removal and other routine residential needs.
  • Respond to non-medical emergencies building concerns maintenance issues security concerns and other immediate operational needs.
  • Monitor and document authorized individuals entering and exiting the residence hall in accordance with university protocols and applicable privacy requirements.
  • Ensure that individuals entering the facility understand and follow applicable access infection-control and safety procedures.
  • Escalate unauthorized access or significant safety concerns to the appropriate university personnel.
  • Track completion of routine operational tasks and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Provide regular updates to designated university leadership or the incident response team regarding operational needs student concerns and emerging issues.
  • Protect student information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.
  • Serves as the primary on-site contact for college students temporarily residing in a designated residence hall used for isolation and quarantine during a measles outbreak.
  • Provides day-to-day coordination logistical support and a consistent point of contact for students families university departments and service providers.
  • Helps ensure that students basic needs are met in a safe organized and supportive environment while they are isolated or quarantined.
To be considered for this position you should have:
  • The position may require extended or nontraditional hours including evenings weekends holidays or an on-call/rotating schedule depending on the needs of the response.
  • Because the position operates within an isolation/quarantine residence the employee must be willing and able to follow all applicable university public health infection-control personal protective equipment and occupational safety requirements.
  • The Coordinator does not provide medical care diagnose illness make medical assessments or provide clinical advice.
  • Medical concerns are referred to the appropriate campus health or public health professionals.
