Job Summary
Salary Range: $3000.00 (3 credit course $1000.00 per credit hour).
The History and Political Science Department at Bridgewater College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach PSCI 320: State and Local Politics.
We are seeking an instructor with expertise in how local and state governments are established and refined by the people.
WHAT YOULL DO:
- Teach one undergraduate course in state and local politics with specific emphasis on Virgina government.
- Provide additional course content on the following topics federalism and the institutions of state government state and local policies and financing Virginia state government state involvement in American politics the structure of state institutions and how states differ.
- Foster an engaging and collaborative learning environment for students.
- Earned a masters degree in political science or related field Ph.D. preferred.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to student-centered teaching.
GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville Washington D.C. and Richmond Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1450 from 27 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study more than 60 majors and minors in addition to four graduate programs and 10 pre-professional programs.
