Adjunct Faculty-Respiratory Care

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) is a premier learning community recognized for teaching and learning excellence relevant and responsive programming student success and community outreach and impact. The College serves over 9500 full- and part-time day and evening students each year. It offers 112 associate degrees and certificates in Business Hospitality Management Engineering Information Technology Education Healthcare Human Services Criminal Justice Liberal Arts Mathematics Biotechnology Automotive Technology and General Studies. The College also offers a wide variety of non-credit courses workshops and corporate trainings through its Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education as well as adult basic education and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes through its Adult Community Learning Center. A number of courses are offered online remote and blended to meet the needs of our diverse students. The College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education Inc. (NECHE) an indication that the institution has been stringently evaluated and found to meet high standards.

General Statement

Adjunct Faculty will teach course(s) within a specific discipline to a diverse student population at our Downtown Worcester campus or specified Off Campus Laboratory Site (OCLS).

• Responsibilities will include instructional preparation assessment of student performance and assistance to student providing didactic and or laboratory/clinical instruction.
• Individuals must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and can build successful relationships with students and faculty.
• Utilize available technologies to provide a variety of innovative approaches to instructional design and content delivery maximizing student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Other duties are assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory care with a minimum of five years of experience or equivalent in Respiratory Care completed in a full-service healthcare setting or a Baccalaureate degree with appropriate education courses with a minimum of three years of experience or equivalent in Respiratory Care completed in a full-service healthcare setting.
• Valid and Current Massachusetts license in Respiratory Care.
• Possess and maintains the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree or higher.
• Experienced in teaching preferably in a community or technical college setting.
• Possess advanced Respiratory credentials (i.e. RPFT ACCS NPS SDS) from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Demonstrates a commitment to promoting diversity in the curriculum as appropriate.
• Member of the AARC.
