SUMMARY/SCOPE:

AdjunctFaculty in the Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program will coordinate andteach course(s) on a variety of topics that will be assigned prior to the startof the course. Topics include applying evidence-based recommendations inclinical practice patient education differential diagnosis from apatient-education perspective and other assigned topics. Instruction will becontinuous for up to two semesters per academic year. Duties include creating and deliveringeducational content grading communicating with students and providing remediation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include course development instruction course managementcreating and grading student assignments in a timely manner and allcorrespondence with students enrolled in the course using course managementsoftware university email and virtual meeting platforms. Other duties as assigned by the DMSc programdirector Dean or university administration.

Demonstrate a high level of engagement with students by respondingto emails and providing feedback through communication about assignmentsdiscussion boards interactive instructional tools recorded videos andvirtual office hours.

Maintain accurate records and documents including syllabilearning objectives grading rubrics posting grades faculty course evaluationas requested and virtual office hours.

Completerequired training for online adjunct faculty communicate promptly withadministration and students attend DMSc virtual departmental meetings andcomplete departmental documentation as requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

PhysicianAssistant applicants holding a Master of Physician Assistant Studies and adoctoral degree (DHSc DMSc Ph.D. etc.) are preferred. Non-PA clinicians with a doctoral-leveldegree will be considered. Candidates with previous online teachingclassroom teaching and/or guest lecture/precepting experience as a PA are preferred.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:

Current NCCPA certification ispreferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Thejob is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods oftime while performing office and computer operations.

Thisposition is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)with an online teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.

Mustbe a resident of the state of Texas.
