Job Summary
- Plan coordinate and lead a variety of daily activities that meet the physical cognitive social emotional and spiritual needs of our residents.
- Get to know residents individually and develop activities based on their interests hobbies abilities and personal histories.
- Create a monthly activity calendar that includes a variety of group and individual activities.
- Organize special events parties entertainment outings and celebrations for residents and families.
- Encourage resident participation while respecting individual choices and preferences.
- Build positive relationships with residents families staff volunteers and community members.
- Incorporate meaningful one-on-one visits and activities for residents who may not participate in group programs.
- Work closely with nursing and other departments to ensure activities are appropriate for each residents needs.
- Bring creativity and new ideas to the facility while creating an environment where residents feel valued included and at home.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with older adults preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Creative dependable and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working with residents with a variety of physical and cognitive abilities.
- Most importantly a genuine passion for working with seniors and making a difference in their everyday lives.
