Job Summary
- Position Summary
The Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) and Prison Reentry Entrepreneurship Program (PrEP) Instructor will teach pre-employment classes and other pre-employment-related programs for Workforce Development including financial literacy entrepreneurship and essential skills classes. This position requires advanced communication and customer service skills and the ability to motivate adult learners.
** THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE THOMASVILLE DAY REPORTING CENTER**- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaches pre-employment training courses using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting.
- Teaches the ACE curriculum and prepares students for the WorkKeys test.
- Teaches financial literacy entrepreneurial and essential skill classes and training courses using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting.
- Plans lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students which prepares students for the workforce.
- Plans and prepares relevant and practical class lessons and monitors student performance.
- Effectively presents technical information to groups in a classroom or lab environment.
- Implements various instructional delivery methods including group or individualized instruction and computer programs that help students prepare for the workforce.
- Administers TABE and WorkKeys tests to determine individual progress.
- Creates a climate that encourages and supports learning.
- Completes and maintains appropriate student registration attendance and assessment records and ensures timely data submission for reporting purposes.
- Maintain and update an inventory of materials on hand for all classes.
- Works independently when required and takes the initiative to seek out tasks that must be completed.
- Works a flexible schedule to include evening and/or weekend classes or assignments.
- Must be eligible to enter any/all Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities to perform the job duties and maintain this status for continued employment.
- Possesses an understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of a community and technical college.
- Possesses a sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity.
- Complies with any applicable guidelines and policies set forth by the Alabama Community College System and J. F. Ingram State Technical College.

REQUIRED:
A Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
PREFERRED:

Salary Range: Salary will be determined by placement on the appropriate Alabama Community College System-approved salary schedule. D3 ($43388-$72375) D3 $32541 - $54282 for a nine-month contract; D3 $10847 - $18093 for a three-month contract.
