Position Summary
The Accounting Team Lead provides day-to-day leadership and supports the accounting team and oversees core general ledger activities including journal entry preparation account reconciliations month-end and year-end close processes and the accuracy of financial information. This role is primarily focused on general ledger accounting and helps ensure compliance with GAAP internal controls and company accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead supervise and support accounting team members responsible for general ledger activities.
- Prepare review and approve journal entries accruals and accounting adjustments.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is accurate.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations investigate variances and resolve outstanding items.
- Maintain the accuracy completeness and integrity of the general ledger across multiple legal entities.
- Review supporting documentation for selling general and administrative (SG&A) expenses to ensure proper GL classification.
- Review the monthly rent schedule prepared by the AP Supervisor. Confirm that rent common area maintenance (CAM) fees utilities and other-occupancy-related expenses are calculated in accordance with lease terms and coded to the appropriate general ledger accounts across multiple operating locations.
- Review data supporting excise tax filings and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Calculate quarterly sales commission payout calculation maintain amortization schedules and prepare related monthly and quarterly journal entries.
- Partner with internal business team to resolve accounting issues and provide accounting guidance.
- Support compliance with company policies internal controls GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager and/or other members of management with special projects financial analysis and other accounting initiatives.
- Train coach and provide feedback to accounting associates.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Approve weekly timecard for direct reports.
Common qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting.
- 5-7 years accounting experience.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP Workday Oracle NetSuite Microsoft Dynamics or similar. Workday preferred.
- Experience with Blackline account reconciliation software preferred
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to meet month-end closing deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation Information:
Thecompensationofferedtoa candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates relevant experience; education including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus commission and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/ for the position are below:
