Job Summary
Our client in Bridgewater Nova Scotia seeking an Accounting Clerk to join its collaborative accounting team. This is a hands-on contract opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys a varied accounting role and can support a range of accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with payment collections and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Process payments and cheques and assist with banking activities
- Prepare and manually distribute customer statements and invoices by email
- Support general accounting and administrative functions as required
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries by phone and email
- Assist with the implementation of automated invoice emailing processes
- Support the implementation of new software
- Post-secondary education in business administration accounting or a related field combined with hands-on experience in a similar role
- Sage 300 experience is a strong asset; candidates should be able to work with the system with limited trainingExperience implementing or transitioning to new accounting or business software is an asset
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative approach
