Accountant

Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a privately held diversified organization in their search for an Accountant to support financial reporting analysis job costing and day-to-day accounting activities across multiple business entities. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills knowledge of GAAP and experience working with job costs.

What You Will Do:

• Perform job cost accounting including tracking analyzing and reconciling project costs and related financial activity.
• Monitor job costs against budgets analyze variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records journal entries account reconciliations and general ledger activity.
• Support monthly financial close and reporting for multiple companies across various industries.
• Analyze accounts and financial data identify discrepancies and resolve errors in a timely manner.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheets income statements and other financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting variance analysis and financial data analysis using Excel.
• Review financial transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with GAAP.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to financial information requests.
• Recommend appropriate accounting treatment for reserves assets expenditures and other transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems job costing processes and workflows.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2 years of related accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Job cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
