POSITION OVERVIEW
Riva is hiring an experienced Access Control Technician to work with an established commercial technology and security integrator in the Denver metro area.
This is a hands-on field position supporting the installation service testing and troubleshooting of electronic access control systems. The ideal candidate understands more than cable pullingyou can work with access control devices and panels follow technical drawings diagnose problems and help deliver complete reliable systems.
You work safely communicate clearly document your work and take pride in clean professional installations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Install connect test service and troubleshoot commercial access control systems
Work with access control panels credential readers power supplies door-position contacts request-to-exit devices and electrified locking hardware
Pull label terminate and test low-voltage cabling associated with access control systems
Read and follow prints wiring diagrams risers schematics and door schedules
Diagnose system device wiring power communication and door-operation issues
Support system programming commissioning functional testing and closeout activities based on experience and assignment requirements
Communicate professionally with project leaders other trades customers building representatives and occupants
Maintain accurate records of work performed deficiencies test results and project status
Follow all Riva client and jobsite safety requirements
Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least two years of hands-on field experience involving commercial access control or electronic security systems
Demonstrated experience installing access control devices and associated low-voltage cabling
Ability to read technical drawings and follow manufacturer and project requirements
Ability to identify and troubleshoot common access control problems
Familiarity with basic network concepts used by IP-connected security devices
Ability to communicate effectively and complete required field documentation
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally to commercial job sites throughout the Denver metro area
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience with any of the following is helpful but experience with every item is not required:
Access control platforms such as LenelS2 Genetec Software House CCURE AMAG Avigilon ACM Brivo Openpath/Alta Kantech Honeywell WIN-PAK DSX Maxxess or Keyscan
Credential and reader technologies such as HID Schlage or biometrics
Electrified door hardware including electric strikes magnetic locks crash bars trim sets and request-to-exit devices
CCTV or integrated electronic security systems
Copper fiber and basic IP-network testing
Commercial service programming commissioning or project-closeout work
Leading or mentoring installers and junior technicians
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is a field position performed at commercial customer and construction sites. The role may require:
Standing walking kneeling crouching stooping and working overhead
Using hand and power tools
Climbing and working from ladders lifts or elevated platforms
Working indoors and outdoors in changing weather and active-jobsite conditions
Driving between job sites within the assigned territory
Lifting and carrying tools equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Riva provides standard personal protective equipment including a hard hat safety glasses and gloves. The assigned client provides any additional PPE required for a specific task or jobsite.
WORKING WITH RIVA
You will be hired as a W-2 employee of Riva for Riva assignments
Riva manages employment administration and weekly payroll
Before an assignment Riva will share the available customer location anticipated schedule trade classification known requirements and pay rate
The licensed customer contractor directs and supervises day-to-day jobsite work
Opportunities and assignment details vary according to contractor needs
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The anticipated pay range is $30.00$40.00 per hour. Compensation is based on relevant experience verified technical capabilities certifications and assignment requirements.
All Riva employees are paid weekly and receive Colorado paid sick and safe leave.
