Job Summary

Audit & Accounting (A&A) Manager

Location: Wilmington DE
Experience Level: 7 Years of Public Accounting Experience

We are partnered with a wellestablished CPA firm in Wilmington DE that is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounting (A&A) Manager to join its leadership team. This role serves as a key liaison between partners clients and professional staff and is ideal for someone who enjoys managing engagements mentoring teams and building longterm client relationships.

The A&A Manager will oversee multiple audit and accounting engagements simultaneously while helping guide the development and growth of both staff and the firm.

What Youll Do
  • Manage all phases of audit compilation and review engagements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients maintaining a deep understanding of their businesses
  • Plan schedule and staff engagements while managing workflow and budgets
  • Supervise review and provide feedback on workpapers reports and financial statements
  • Evaluate internal controls and ensure compliance with professional and firm standards
  • Anticipate engagement risks and proactively address issues as they arise
  • Keep partners informed of engagement status challenges and proposed solutions
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements tax returns and client communications
  • Mentor and develop staff through training coaching and performance evaluations
  • Assist with billing client fee discussions and collections as needed
  • Participate in practice development efforts including client expansion and referral relationships
  • Stay informed on economic regulatory and legislative developments impacting clients
What Our Client Is Looking For
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 7 years of public accounting experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility and engagement management
  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong background in audit and accounting engagements
  • Proven experience supervising mentoring and developing staff
  • Excellent clientfacing communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
