Melakam Industrial LLC is hiring an experienced 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This onsite leadership role is ideal for a supervisor with experience in production leadership lean manufacturing employee development continuous improvement safety quality and union manufacturing environments.
You will lead production teams coach team leaders ensure training compliance improve operational performance and help achieve safety quality delivery and productivity goals.
Responsibilities
Lead daily 2nd shift manufacturing operations to meet production schedules and performance goals.
Promote a safe respectful and team-oriented work environment.
Coach mentor and develop team leaders and production employees.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
Ensure employee training compliance for safety quality equipment operation and 5S standards.
Maintain employee training records and training matrix documentation.
Support production efficiency quality and waste reduction initiatives.
Establish and monitor operational goals and performance metrics.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters.
Work with union representatives regarding contract interpretation and disciplinary matters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a medium or high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven servant leadership experience with strong coaching mentoring and team development skills.
Experience managing employee training programs including safety quality equipment operation and 5S compliance.
Experience working in a union manufacturing environment and communicating with union stewards.
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Fabrication Metal Stamping Machining or Welding.
Background in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Operations.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Kaizen Kanban process control and production scheduling.
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending and stooping.
Manual dexterity required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
