What youll do as a MISO Intern:

• Help turn complex engineering problems into clear requirements models or design decisions that make it easier for teams to move forward confidently.
• Work with product teams architects and operators to clarify questions align solutions and reduce confusion.
• Build systems engineering artifacts such as system models requirements and interface definitions that support real product teams and projects.
• Attend community service events intern socials networking activities and development programming to help you grow your confidence build relationships and understand MISOs broader mission.
• Wrap up the summer with a final presentation summarizing your project work recommendations and areas of impact.

We are looking for students who

• Are pursuing Electrical Engineering Software Engineering Mechanical Engineering or other engineering-related degrees (undergraduate or graduate).
• Have curiosity critical thinking adaptability and strong collaboration skills.
• Communicate clearly and can explain complex topics in simple understandable ways.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel) and comfortable learning engineering tools and modeling concepts.
• Are eager to learn systems thinking requirements analysis modeling and how large-scale grid systems operate.

To be eligible for the program you must be available to start Wednesday June 2^nd 2027 and continue through Friday August 13^th 2027. No VISA sponsorship opportunities including OPT/CPT.
