What youll do as a MISO Intern:

• Build and improve automation that helps create configure and secure computer systems for MISOs critical operations.
• Work with engineers to troubleshoot issues implement fixes and see your automation make real systems more reliable and easier to deploy.
• Use tools like Ansible Python GitHub Actions and Packer to replace manual steps with faster more consistent and secure processes.
• Attend community service events intern socials networking activities and development programming to help you grow your confidence build relationships and understand MISOs broader mission.
• Wrap up the summer with a final presentation summarizing your project work recommendations and areas of impact.

We are looking for students who

• Are pursuing Computer Science Information Technology Computer Engineering (undergraduate or graduate).
• Have coursework or experience in operating systems IT infrastructure systems administration and programming (especially Python).
• Are comfortable using or learning tools like Windows/Unix administration Git GitHub GitHub Actions Ansible Packer and Python.
• Have hands-on experience with Windows or Linux systems scripting and version control.
• Are curious collaborative mission-driven and eager to learn automation tools and troubleshoot technical issues.

To be eligible for the program you must be available to start Wednesday June 2^nd 2027 and continue through Friday August 13^th 2027. No VISA sponsorship opportunities including OPT/CPT.
