Are you pursuing a graduate level degree in Artificial Intelligence Computer Science/Technology Computer Engineering Data Science or a related field and searching for a career-igniting summer internship in 2027 Do you want to see your ideas make a real impacthelping MISO keep the lights on for 45 million people by driving innovations that boost system reliability resilience and performance and tackling some of the most complex technical challenges in the energy industry

What youll do as a MISO Intern:

• Work on real AI and software engineering projects that help MISO explore and build new technologies from early prototypes to productionâready tools using Python GitHub cloud platforms and modern AI frameworks.
• Support AIâenabled workflows such as data pipelines automation LLM/RAG agents observability dashboards or pilot features that test new ideas quickly and safely.
• Collaborate closely with engineers product teams and emergingâtech specialists to refine requirements test concepts evaluate performance and improve system reliability.
• Attend community service events intern socials networking activities and development programming to help you grow your confidence build relationships and understand MISOs broader mission.
• Wrap up the summer with a final presentation summarizing your project work recommendations and areas of impact.

We are looking for students who

• Are pursuing Artificial Intelligence Computer Science/Technology Computer Engineering or Data Science at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Have skills in Python GitHub GitHub Copilot generative AI LLMs prompt engineering RAG agent frameworks and automation principles.
• Understand or are excited to learn cloud infrastructure concepts networking basics observability and security fundamentals.
• Are curious creative collaborative learners who enjoy experimenting solving problems and exploring new technologies.
• Communicate well ask thoughtful questions and thrive in handsâon technical environments.

To be eligible for the program you must be available to start Wednesday June 2^nd 2027 and continue through Friday August 13^th 2027. No VISA sponsorship opportunities including OPT/CPT.
