Engineering Co-Op Summary
Partner with engineers and laboratory personnel to support materials characterization technical documentation and laboratory operations.
Essential Functions
- Assist with operation of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipment and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Support metallurgical characterization testing and data collection activities.
- Assist in developing documenting and revising laboratory procedures work instructions and technical standards.
- Analyze test results and prepare technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with engineers and laboratory personnel to support ongoing materials investigations and development projects.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Competencies
- Basic knowledge of engineering or materials science principles.
- Technical writing and documentation skills.
- Computer and data analysis skills.
Education and Experience
Enrolled and completed 2 years accredited university in Metallurgical Engineering Materials Science Engineering Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
