Job Summary
The Faculty Development Council (FDC) and the Office of the Provost are pleased to solicit proposals for co-taught classes of an innovative and interdisciplinary nature.
OBJECTIVE
These awards are intended to support faculty in innovative and interdisciplinary teaching that advances Chapman Universitys aim to provide students with a personalized education of distinction that leads to inquiring ethical and productive lives as global citizens. Please note that this award does not preclude other co-teaching arrangements that academic units may be able to arrange. The FDC encourages faculty interested in co-teaching to pursue opportunities at the unit level in addition to applying for this co-teaching award.
AWARDS
The FDC will review the proposals and select up to two co-taught courses to be offered during the fall or spring semesters of the 2027-2028 academic year with the following provisions: 1) the co-taught course will keep a standard enrollment cap and 2) the co-taught course will count as a full course in the calculation of each instructors contractual load. The co-taught course may be housed in a single department cross-listed in two or more departments or taught in the universitys Honors program.
ELIGIBILITY
All full-time faculty members are eligible to apply for the co-teaching award.
