Job Summary
Seeking an experienced 1st Class Structural Welder for a shipyard in Bourg LA. Candidates must be skilled in structural welding reading blueprints and fabricating vessel components safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3 years of structural welding experience
- Ability to read marine blueprints and drawings
- Experience with FCAW SMAW or MIG welding processes
- Able to pass a hands-on weld test
- Reliable transportation and attendance
- Able to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- NCCER or welding certification
- Aluminum and steel vessel experience
- Gulf Coast shipyard experience
Qualifying Questions
- How many years of structural welding experience do you have
- Can you read and interpret marine blueprints
- Which welding processes do you have experience with (FCAW SMAW MIG etc.)
- Have you worked in a shipyard environment before
- Are you able to pass a hands-on weld test
- Are you willing to work overtime if needed
