The school is looking for a caring organised and professional Welfare Officer to provide day-to-day welfare support to pupils.
Responsibilities will include:
Responding to pupil welfare concerns.
Providing first-aid support where appropriately qualified.
Supporting pupils who become unwell.
Maintaining medical and welfare records.
Contacting parents and carers when required.
Supporting medication administration in accordance with procedures.
Maintaining medical documentation.
Supporting pupils with ongoing welfare requirements.
Monitoring pupil wellbeing.
Liaising with parents.
Supporting attendance-related welfare concerns.
Maintaining welfare supplies.
Contributing to health and safety procedures.
Sharing relevant information with authorised staff.
Escalating concerns appropriately.
Maintaining confidentiality.
Supporting wider pastoral initiatives.
The Welfare Officer will provide a calm and reassuring presence for pupils who require support during the school day.
You will need to assess routine welfare matters appropriately and recognise when additional support may be required.
The successful candidate must maintain professional boundaries while ensuring pupils feel listened to and supported.
Where appropriately trained the Welfare Officer may support medication arrangements.
This will require accurate records appropriate authorisation secure storage and clear communication with parents.
The role involves communication with parents and carers regarding pupil welfare.
You may need to contact families when pupils are unwell discuss ongoing welfare arrangements or request additional information.
The successful candidate will contribute to the schools safeguarding culture and must understand the importance of reporting concerns through the correct channels.
