We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative/Van Driver to join our team at our Cambridge Branch. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small hardworking and friendly team supporting the smooth running of day-to-day warehouse operations and van deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Support general day-to-day warehouse operations.
• Preparing customer orders for delivery.
• Managing stock inventory and performing stock checks.
• Ensure the loading and unloading of the vehicle is conducted correctly and safely.
• Deliver customer orders in a professional safe and timely manner providing excellent customer service at every delivery point.
• Follow delivery routes efficiently to ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to road traffic regulations.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements in line with company procedures.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and complete all required paperwork correctly.
• Ensure all goods are transported securely and safely minimising the risk of damage during transit.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Keep the vehicle clean well-maintained and free from preventable damage.
• Report any accidents incidents or vehicle-related issues immediately following company procedures.
• Act as a professional ambassador for the business while interacting with customers suppliers and members of the public.
• Play a key part in the team covering driver holidays and annual leave.
• Support warehouse operations during quieter delivery periods ensuring flexibility across the branch.

Key skills

• Valid forklift licence an advantage but not essential as training can be provided (Counterbalance or Bendi).
• Valid driving licence (B: Cars and light vans up to 3500kg Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties
• Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable punctual and a strong team player
• Previous warehouse experience is an advantage
