Job Summary
Purpose of role
Join Ocorians two-year Trainee Company Secretary Programme and build a rewarding career in corporate governance. Working with global funds clients youll gain hands-on experience while studying for an MSc in Management and Corporate Governance. Based in our Belfast office youll benefit from a comprehensive training programme study-friendly working arrangements and clear career progression with the opportunity to be promoted to Company Secretary upon successful completion. Were looking for a motivated fast learner who is eager to develop their knowledge and make an impact.
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced professionals supporting global funds and corporate entities.
- Play a key role in organising board and shareholder meetings and preparing governance documentation.
- Gain exposure to fund launches regulatory filings and corporate transactions.
- Collaborate with directors clients and industry specialists across multiple jurisdictions.
- Learn how strong governance supports successful businesses and investment structures.
- Manage statutory records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop technical knowledge commercial awareness and professional confidence through real-world experience.
- Contribute to projects that make a genuine impact for clients and the wider business.

Qualifications :
Knowledge Skills and Experience
- A degree-level qualification.
- A commitment to studying towards or currently undertaking the CGI qualification (or equivalent) or a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- A willingness to learn and develop a broad understanding of Ocorians services and clients.
