Pickerings Hire is developing a Power & Renewables division to deliver innovative energy solutions including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) hybrid power generation solar EV charging and energy management.

We are looking for a technically knowledgeable renewable-energy professional to join our team and play a key role in developing this growing area of the business.

The role

You will provide technical and product support to our sales teams depots and customers by translating enquires into practical energy solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical support across BESS solar hybrid generation EV charging and temporary power solutions.
• Assessing customer and site requirements including load profiles power availability and site constraints.
• Supporting product selection system configuration and technical quotations.
• Working with manufacturers and suppliers on technical information pricing and availability.
• Supporting sales teams in developing Power & Renewables opportunities.
• Developing product packages technical guidance and internal training.
• Supporting the introduction of new technologies and products.

About you

You will have existing technical knowledge of renewable energy and power technologies ideally including:

• BESS and battery storage
• Solar PV and hybrid systems
• Hybrid generator/battery solutions
• Temporary power and electrical distribution
• EV and plant charging
• Energy monitoring and management systems

You will be technically curious commercially minded and customer focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Experience in an electrical engineering renewable-energy or technical environment is desirable. A relevant qualification and full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
